How to play
How do I play?
Each week you bet on NHL games. Betting closes 60 minutes before puck drop, and you can change or withdraw a bet any time before then.
Each bet is on one game, and you pick one of the two teams playing in it. Picking the winner pays double — see what do I win.
What's a cycle?
A cycle is one pass through all 32 teams: bet each team once and the cycle completes. A team counts as used the moment you place a bet on it, and you cannot bet it again until the cycle ends.
What are tokens?
Tokens are your score. You start with 64, and you stake 1–3 on each bet. Your standing on the leaderboard is your equity — your balance plus the stakes still riding on open bets. Placing a bet moves tokens from your balance into those stakes, so it never changes your position; only a settled win or loss does.
Your balance is what you have available to bet.
What do I win?
Every bet pays double. Bet 2 tokens and a win returns 4: your 2 back, plus 2 profit. Lose and the stake is gone. It is even money — there are no odds in this pool, so the stake is the only thing you choose.
Bonuses are flat awards — a fixed number of tokens added to your balance, not a multiplier on your bet:
- Completing a cycle — betting all 32 teams — earns +10.
- Winning every one of those 32 bets earns +32 more.
- A perfect week — at least 4 settled bets, all winners — earns +5.
- The week's biggest betting profit earns +5.
Bonuses are paid when the week is reconciled, early Monday morning. That is why a game that finished last night can show as won while your balance has not moved yet.
What happens if I skip a week?
Bets you have already placed are unaffected — they settle as normal. But if you place no bet at all during a week, that week costs you 5 tokens.
You never drop below 5 tokens: if the penalty would take you under, it is applied and then the weekly floor lifts you back to 5. So however badly a week goes, you always have enough to bet the next one.
This is why your balance sometimes moves with no bet behind it. Token history names every movement and its cause.
Can I change a bet?
Yes, until 60 minutes before that game starts. Withdrawing a bet returns your stake and frees the team for another pick in this cycle — which matters, because teams are the scarce resource.
What if a game is postponed?
Your stake is returned, the bet is marked Withdrawn, and the team becomes available again. It is not a loss.
Why is my balance different from what I expected?
Token history lists every movement with its cause — bets, winnings, bonuses, the inactivity penalty and the weekly floor — and the running balance beside each one.
